Al-Fātiḥatu ilā ḥaḍrati sayyidinā wa-ḥabībinā Muḥammadin, ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi wa-sallam,
Al-Fātiḥah is dedicated to the honored presence of our master and beloved Muhammad. May Allah bless him, his family, and his Companions, and grant them peace,
وَإِلَى رُوحِ سَيِّدِنَا الْحَبِيبِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْعَطَّاسِ صَاحِبِ الرَّاتِبِ، وَالشَّيْخِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بَارَاسْ،
wa-ilā rūḥi sayyidinā al-Ḥabībi ʿUmara bni ʿAbdi ar-Raḥmāni al-ʿAṭṭāsi ṣāḥibi ar-rātib, wa-ash-Shaykhi ʿAliyyi bni ʿAbdi Llāhi Bārās,
and to the spirit of our master al-Ḥabīb ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʿAṭṭās, the author of the Rātib, and Shaykh ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh Bārās,
وَإِلَى رُوحِ سَيِّدِنَا الْإِمَامِ الْحَبِيبِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَطَّاسِ. الْفَاتِحَةُ.
wa-ilā rūḥi sayyidinā al-Imāmi al-Ḥabībi Aḥmada bni Ḥasani bni ʿAbdi Llāhi al-ʿAṭṭās. Al-Fātiḥah.
and to the spirit of our master, Imam al-Ḥabīb Aḥmad ibn Ḥasan ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-ʿAṭṭās. Recite al-Fātiḥah.
Reading and translation notes
Each unit appears in three lines: fully vocalized Arabic, transliteration, and English translation. Repetition counts appear in square brackets at the end of the unit they belong to. At each Fātiḥah cue, recite Sūrat al-Fātiḥah once.
The transliteration marks long vowels as ā, ī, and ū. It distinguishes ḥ, kh, dh, sh, ṣ, ḍ, ṭ, ẓ, gh, q, ʿayn as ʿ, and hamzah as ʾ. It supports reading and does not replace learning the Arabic with a qualified teacher. Optional case endings at the end of a recitation unit are not always forced in the transliteration.
Qurʾanic passages appear in standard fully vocalized form, with verse numbers at the end of each verse in the Arabic, the transliteration, and the translation.
Devotional titles and kinship formulas are translated for meaning, while proper names and established Islamic terms remain transliterated. The English is a fresh translation made from the Arabic for this edition.
The official source prints the final phrase of the concluding supplication as bi-faḍli, without an expressed possessive pronoun. This edition vocalizes and translates the contextually expected reading bi-faḍlika, meaning by Your grace. Punctuation and line division are editorial and serve readability; they do not alter the order of recitation.
Two repetition differences are worth noting. Khulāṣat al-Madad al-Nabawī gives four repetitions for the fourfold tasbīḥ and prints two separate ṣalawāt formulas ten times each. The Dar al-Zahra booklet gives three repetitions for the fourfold tasbīḥ and one combined ṣalawāt formula eleven times. The main text follows the official Khulāṣah counts.
Source and scope
Author: Imam al-Ḥabīb ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʿAṭṭās (992–1072 AH).
The main text follows the complete Rātib printed in Khulāṣat al-Madad al-Nabawī, compiled by Habib Umar bin Hafiz, on printed pages 101 to 110. That form includes the core invocations, two distinct tenfold ṣalawāt formulas, five concluding Fātiḥah dedications, and the final supplication.
The Dar al-Zahra booklet serves as a lineage-based cross-check. Its additional opening dedication appears in the appendix, clearly separated from the main text. Where the two witnesses differ in repetition counts, the main text keeps the counts in Khulāṣat al-Madad al-Nabawī.
